Over 90 students across eight law schools applied to gain entrance to this year's Walker Health Law Moot. Spots filled up in less than 60 seconds, with students from the University of Toronto, Osgoode Hall Law School, Ryerson, Queen's, Western, Windsor, Bora Laskin, and the University of Ottawa signed on to compete. These students will compete in February to take home the prestigious Walker Cup, and will be coached to success by our former competitors.
The Walker Health Law Moot is a not-for profit competition and a truly matchless experience for law students. Last year's event gave students the opportunity to strengthen their advocacy skills and display their talents in front of over 70 prominent lawyers, medical professionals, and judges. Our sponsors included MADD, McDonalds, Red Bull, Lexis Nexis, and prominent U.S. and Canadian firms. Over $8,000 was raised for the students, with over $4,000 in scholarships provided to last year's winners, and many of our participants went on to gain summer jobs at prominent firms.
The Event will be held once again remotely, through Zoom, on February 26 & 27, 2022.
